Washington DC [US]: A few days ahead of the November 3 polls, Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden is seen leading US President Donald Trump by 10 percentage points nationally, according to a new poll released on Sunday.

The poll done by NBC News and Wall Street Journal showed that Biden’s support stands at 52 per cent to Trump’s 42 per cent among national registered voters, as election day is just two days away.

“This is the most competitive election I could imagine if you’re down 10 points nationally,” pollster Bill McInturff was quoted as saying by NBC.

The pre-election poll found that Biden was ahead of Trump by 6 points, 51 per cent to 45 per cent, in 12 combined battleground states, namely Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

The survey was released as both Biden and Trump are making a last-ditch effort to secure ballots in battleground states.

As per the United States Election Project, over 93 million Americans had already cast their ballots as of Sunday noon, amounting to 67.7 per cent of total votes counted in the 2016 election.
