Prakash Raj acted in stage shows in the beginning of his career and used to earn Rs 300 per month. He began his television career with the show ‘Bisilu Kudure’ in Doordarshan. He then tried working in Kannada cinema. Prakash Raj was soon noticed for his dialogue delivery and acting. He got his most promising role offered by director KSL Swamy in the film ‘Harakeya Kuri’. He also worked in many Malayalam films in 1996. The actor and producer also tried his hands in the Telugu cinema in 1998 with the film ‘Antahpuram’. He also received a National film award for this film.

Talking about Bollywood, the actor, director and producer worked in the film ‘Khakee’ with Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai and Akshay Kumar. He played the role of a cop in the film named Shrikant Naidu. He was seen playing Negative roles in Bollywood films. He was also seen in ‘Singham’, ‘Dabangg 2 and Mumbai Mirror etc.

Prakash Raj as a Director

Prakash Raj took to direction with the film ‘Naanu Naana Kanasu’ in Kannada in 2010. The film successfully completed 125 days in theatres across Karnataka. He was nominated for the Filmfare South Best Director category for this film.

 

Prakash Raj as a Producer

He became a Producer with a Tamil Film ‘Dhaya’ in 2002. He earned a Special Jury National Award for this film.

Apart from being a successful actor, director and Producer, Prakash Raj has adopted the villages of the Telangana and Karnataka State.
