Kim Ji Hoon Turns 43: His daring performances have long been beloved by fans, from Money Heist Korea to Death’s Game.

New Delhi: Korean actor Kim Ji Hoon is well-known for his versatility. He seemed to have done it all: starred in romantic comedies, thrillers, and more. But his villainous character is still his strongest. An abundance of interesting villains has him as their first pick.

Kim Ji Hoon got his start in the industry in 2001 as a video jockey on the hit variety program Hotline. The 2002 TV drama Loving You was his acting debut.  His daring performances have long been beloved by fans, from Money Heist Korea to Death’s Game. In celebration of the actor’s 43rd birthday (May 9, 2024), let’s reminisce about some of Kim Ji Hoon’s critically acclaimed works.

1. Death’s Game (2023)

The protagonist, Choi Yi Jae, falls into a deep depression following a turbulent seven years of job hunting. Upon seeing ‘Death’ at the doorway to Hell, Yi Jae is taken aback; he believes that ending his life would be the cure. Here, the villainous Taekang Group CEO, Park Tae Woo, is played by Kim Ji Hoon.

2. Love to Hate You (2023)

Yeo Mi Ran, a young lawyer at Gilmu Law Firm, hates losing to men and doesn’t want a relationship. Nam Kang Ho is an actor and is well-praised for his excellent looks, intelligence, and kindness. Yeo Mi Ran and Nam Kang Ho are involved in a love conflict although they both doubt the existence of love. Here, Kim Ji Hoon portrays the second male lead Do Won Joon.

3. Ballerina – Movie (2023)

Jang Ok Ju is an accomplished martial artist, swordsman, marksman, and motorcyclist who once worked as a bodyguard. Ballerina Choi Min Hee is Ok Ju’s friend. Min Hee asks Ok Ju to get revenge on Choi Pro (Kim Ji Hoon) for her.

4. Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area – Part 1 and 2 (2022)

A mastermind known only as Professor intends to heist billions of euros from Spain’s Royal Mint—the largest theft ever recorded. He enlists eight individuals who possess certain skills and who are unattached to the outcome to execute the audacious scheme. Here, Kim Ji Hoon portrays Denver, as one of the eight characters.

5. Flower of Evil (2020)

A tragic mystery about Do Hyun Soo’s identity lies at the heart of the plot. Living the life of a devoted husband and a loving father, Hyun Soo goes by the name Baek Hee Sung. When his homicide detective wife, Cha Ji Won, starts looking into a series of serial killings of fifteen years ago, his flawless image starts to fall apart. Here, Kim Ji Hoon portrays the villain, the original Baek Hee Sung.

6. Goddess Of Marriage (2013)

The protagonist, Song Ji Hye, is a radio writer with an innocent and perhaps confident attitude toward life. She fantasizes about finding true love, but she’s afraid that actual love won’t measure up to her ideal. Her romantic life takes a twist as she becomes entangled with Kim Hyun Woo and Kang Tae Wook (Kim Ji Hoon).

7. Flower Boy Next Door (2013)

Go Dok Mi, the protagonist of this drama, is a Lonely Heart girl who spends her days watching the guy who lives in the building next to her. Her other neighbour, Enrique Geum, catches her snooping. On the other hand, Oh Jin Rak (Kim Ji Hoon), has noticed her for a long time knows everything about her, and will eventually fall in love with her.
