New Delhi: With Jamie Dornan returning for a second season as the protagonist with amnesia, The Tourist is sure to keep viewers captivated. On April 16, 2024, the show’s official trailer was released and the over-the-top release was moved to Lionsgate Play.
Despite being extended for a second season and starting on BBC One in the UK, Stan in Australia, and HBO Max in the US and other countries, Max chose to move its business elsewhere after the first season. The series is now prepared to be released on Lionsgate Play.
Plot
In the first season of The Tourist, Jamie Dornan played the role of Elliot, a man who survived an accident in the Australian Outback but has no recollection of what happened or who he is. However, when rummaging through his clothing pocket, he comes upon a slip of paper that requests his presence at the café. A story rife with dark humour, passion, and surprising turns emerges.
Following Season 1’s cliffhanger, in which Elliot Stanley overdoses and attempts suicide after receiving a reconciliatory message from Helen, the second season of The Tourist begins sometime after the events of Season 1. In the plot of Season 2, Elliot and Helen go to Ireland to find out who Elliot is. But things take a dark turn, and they must face the dangerous repercussions of Elliot’s previous deeds.
In the latest trailer, we see Helen and Elliot on a romantic getaway to Ireland, where he tries to piece together his history while being entangled in the clan conflict between the Cassidys and the McDonnells.
When and Where to Watch?
Season 1 of The Tourist, had previously been shown on HBO Max, but oddly disappeared as filming Season 2 began. Netflix, however, acquired the air rights of the show, thus Season 1 premiered on February 1, 2024, and Season 2 was released very immediately after.
Now, the second season of The Tourist will finally hit Lionsgate Play on April 19, 2024.

Cast
Lead roles for the series are played by Jamie Dornan (Elliot Stanley), Danielle Macdonald (Helen Chambers), and Victoria Haralabidou (Lena Pascal). The picture also features a slew of additional actors, including Greg Larsen, Conor MacNeill, Francis Magee, Olwen Fouéré, and Shalom Brune-Franklin.
