Covid-19: Delhi records fresh surge, 2024 Corona cases reported in last 24 hours

The daily count of Covid-19 has crossed 2,000 mark. With this, the total tally of Covid-19 cases in the state has crossed 1.73 lakh and the death toll has mounted to more than 4400.

New Delhi: The daily count of Covid-19 has crossed 2,000 mark. This is highest Corona tally in last 24 hours in about 50 days.

With this, the total tally of Covid-19 cases in the state has crossed 1.73 lakh and the death toll has mounted to more than 4400.

22 casualties due to Corona have been recorded in the last 24 hours, according to data issued by Delhi health department.

According to the official figures, 6,881 RTPCR/CBNAAT/ TrueNat tests were done in the last 24 hours while 13,556 rapid antigen tests were conducted during the same time.

Total number of Corona cases stood at 1,73,390 while 1,54,171 patients have either recovered or have been discharged.

The number of active cases stands at 14,793 and the number of containment zones at 820.

Fine to be levied in Delhi for violating Covid-19 norms

Delhi government has decided to introduce more monitoring teams on road to ensure Covid-19 norms are followed on ground strictly.

Following a spike in Covid-19 cases, the Delhi government has started deploying additional enforcement teams in all 11 revenue districts to ensure people follow safety guidelines, and impose fines in the event of violations. This has led to penalties for violations going up by 10 times in some districts.
