India reports 43,654 fresh COVID cases with 640 deaths in last 24 hours

New Delhi; India reported 43,654 fresh COVID cases with 41,678 recoveries, and 640 deaths in the last 24 hours, said Heath Ministry on Wednesday.

The cumulative active cases stands at 3,99,436. Active cases constitute 1.27% of total cases.

With 3,06,63,147 people recovered till date, Recovery Rate currently at 97.39%. 4,22,022 death toll recorded.

Weekly Positivity Rate remains below 5%, currently at 2.36% . Daily positivity rate at 2.51%, remains below 5%.

A total of 46,09,00,978 samples were tested up to July 27, out of which, 17,36,857 samples were tested yesterday(July27).

Over 41,78,51,151 COVID-19 vaccine doses has been administered under the nationwide vaccination drive till date.

A top government official on Tuesday (July 27) said that approximately 15 crore doses of COVID-19 vaccines will be available in the month of August.

NITI Aayog, Member-Health, Dr VK Paul advised people not to travel unnecessarily and emphasised that some areas are still a matter of concern especially Kerala and northeastern states.
