CBSE Exams 2021 not to be held in Jan-Feb, confirms Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal

New Delhi: Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank in his address to the teachers said that No Board examinations will be conducted in January or February, a decision on the conduct of examinations will be taken later.

Pokhriyal said that typically Practical Exams of CBSE Board were held in January while Theory exams would be held starting from February month. However, this year, keeping in mind the prevailing situation of COVID pandemic and to ensure completion of the syllabus for the students, the exams have been postponed and will not be held in January – February 2021 months.

Few days back Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal announced that JEE Joint Entrance Exam (Main) will be conducted in four sessions in February, March, April and May starting from February 23 to 26, 2021. The next sessions of the exam will take place between March 15-18, April 27-30 and May 24-38, Pokhriyal added.

He also announced that for the first time ever, the examination for admission into engineering institutions in the country will be conducted in 13 languages – Assamese, Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, Hindi, English and Gujarati.

Elaborating on the new system, the Minister informed that candidates would not have to appear in all four sessions.
