New Delhi: Punjab School Education Board declared the results of class 8 examinations on Thursday, June 2. The detailed results are out, on June 3, for students to view.
Class 8 examinations were held from April 2 to April 22, and 307942 students registered and appeared for the exams. Out of the total, only 697 students did not pass the examinations, which makes the overall pass percentage to be 98.25%. Girls have outnumbered the boys in passing the examinations. The pass percentage of girls stood at 98.70%, whereas the pass percentage of boys was 97.86%. Board chairperson Yograj stated that there will be re-tests for those students who failed the exams.

The top 3 rank holders of class 8 PSEB board examinations were:
- Manpreet Singh from Barnala
- Himani Sethi from Hoshiarpur
- Karmanpreet Kaur from Nawan Tanel
Karmanpreet Kaur of Ambar Public Senior Secondary School, Nawan Tanel in Amritsar district achieved the third position by scoring 596 marks. She is daughter of small farmer in Punjab and wants to become a lawyer.
