New Delhi: Days before the theatrical release of highly awaited sports drama 83, Sajid Nadiadwala hosted a special screening of the movie in Mumbai on Sunday night.
The screening was attended by director Kabir Khan and Bollywood celebs including Suniel Shetty, Rhea Chakraborty, Tushar Kapoor, Rumy Jaffery, and Diana Penty among others.
Actor Ranveer Singh will soon be seen portraying Kapil Dev, captain of the 1983 cricket World Cup-winning team, in the upcoming sports biopic ’83’, delved into the intricacies of portraying the character for the big screen.
Helmed by director Kabir Khan, ’83’ revolves around India’s historical 1983 cricket World Cup win.
While expressing his first reaction after watching the film on actor Suniel Shetty stated that he was highly impressed by Ranveer Singh’s transformation and acting skills in the movie. Shetty further said that he was ‘stunned’ and adding that he was, “still shaken and teary-eyed at the artistry and emotions”.
The actor also took to twitter to congratulate Ranveer Singh as he wrote, “Went to watch Ranveer Singh in 83, Couldn’t spot him. There was only Kapil Dev on screen. Incredible transformation. I am stunned beyond. A team cast that could’ve walked off Lords. Got gooseflesh like I was reliving ‘83. Still shaken & teary-eyed at the artistry & emotions”.

The upcoming film 83 is all set to hit the theaters on December 24. The film will release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.
