Amitabh Bachchan sells ancestral Delhi home ‘Sopaan’ for Rs 23 crore

New Delhi: The Shenshaah of Bollywood is learnt to have sold off his parents house in Delhi named ‘Sopaan’ for a sum of Rs 23 crore.

Amitabh Bachchan’s parents Harivansh Rai Bachchan & Teji Bachchan used to live in this property in Delhi’s Gulmohar Park.

Big B’s ancestral property has reportedly been purchased by an old friend of the family, who have known them for 35 years.

According to a report in Economic Times, the Gulmohar Park property has been purchased by the Avni Bader, CEO of Nezone group of companies.

“It’s an old construction, so we will demolish the structure and construct as per our requirements. We have been living in the area for many years and were looking for an additional property. When this offer came, we immediately said yes and acquired the asset,” Avni told the publication.

According to data available with by Zapkey, the registry of Amitabh’s 418.05 square-metre home was completed on December 7, 2021.

The Big B, currently lives with his family including wife Jaya Bachchan, son Abhishek & daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in their Mumbai residence ‘Jalsa’. Amitabh had purchased this bungalow from film producer NC Sippy. The 10,125 square feet house is a two-storey property situated in Juhu.

Bachchan family’s another house in Juhu is named ‘Prateeksha’, where they lived for many year. The house was brought by Amitabh in 1976. His son Abhishek Bachchan and daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan also tied the knot there in 2007.
