New Delhi: Veteran Indian Pacer Mohammed Shami has given a befitting response to an ex-Pakistani cricketer Hasan Raza who allegedly accused Team India of cheating in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023.
Taking to his Instagram handle, Shami shared a post and hit back at Raza for beating around the bush instead of staying focused on the game.
He wrote, “Sharam karo yar game pe focus karo na ki faltu bakwas parr kabi to dusrre ki success ko enjoy kiya karo chi yar. ICC World Cup hai apke local tournament nahi hai or Ap player hi the an.” (You should be ashamed for saying this nonsense instead of focusing on your own game. This is ICC World, not your local cricketing tournament)
“Wasim bhai ne samjhaya hai explain kia tha phir bhi. hahahahaha. Apne player apne Wasim Akram par yakhin nahi apko. Apna tarif karne mein lage hai janab apto just like a wow.” (Even Wasim Akram, your own player, explained on this but you don’t even trust him hahaha, all you do is self-praising) added the Indian cricketer in his Instagram Post.

Hasan Raza’s allegations
Previously, Raza, who has represented Pakistan in 16 One Day Internationals and 7 tests during his 9-year-long cricketing career, made a controversial remark about Rohit Sharma’s team India while saying that ICC is providing different balls to the Indian Bowlers and the same is giving them an unfair advantage over the opposition team.
While speaking with a Pakistani media outlet ABN, the ex-cricketer claimed that the ball provided to Indian bowlers offers significantly more swing when compared with the one used by the rest of the teams and that’s exactly why India is winning all their games convincingly.
He even accused BCCI and India of DRS Manipulation and said, “Looks like the ICC or BCCI was giving new or different balls to Indian bowlers. They are also manipulating the DRS and it same is clearly evident”
“The ball should be checked, and there should be a debate over it. KL Rahul is taking the balls at some height, and there is hardness in the ball too. Mohammed Shami took 5 wickets for 18 runs, and Mohammed Siraj took 3 wickets. It doesn’t look like international batters are playing. The ball that is pitched ahead seems to be simply vanishing.”, the former Pakistani cricketer added further.
Wasim Akrm Slams Hasan Raza
Notably, Raza’s absurd remarks not only irked Shami but also attracted criticism from his fellow countrymen and veteran ex-cricketer Wasim Akram.
Bashing Raza for his baseless comment about the ICC and team India, Wasim advised him to not shatter the Image of Pakistan in the entire world
Speaking on the same in a Pakistani sports show, Wasim said ” I have been reading about it from last couple of days. I want to have the same things these guys are having sounds like fun.”
“Beizaati apni to Karani hi karani saddi bhi na karwao puri duniya vich, (you not only get yourself insulted but also defame our image in the world) Waseem continued in Punjabi.

Sensational Shami
Meanwhile, Shami continued his impressive performance in the ICC CWC 2023 and claimed two more wickets during India’s eighth World Cup 2023 encounter against South Africa.
With that, the 33-year-old bowler officially took over his counterparts Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj to become India’s leading wicket-taker in the multinational tournament so far.
He also toppled former World Cup-winning pacer Zaheer Khan (44 Wickets in 23 matches) to hold the title of India’s highest wicket-taker (47 Wickets in 15 matches) in the history of the ODI World Cup.
