New Delhi: The much-awaited trailer of Aamir Khan’s upcoming film Lal Singh Chaddha was released at the TATA IPL’s finale night on May 29. The film is all set to hit the theatres on August 11, 2022. Helmed by Advait Chandan and written by Eric Roth and Atul Kulkarni, Laal Singh Chaddha has previously been postponed many a time and after the release of the trailer, fans can’t wait for more to watch the movie at cinemas.
However, the movie has been receiving severe criticism with netizens calling for its boycott. Since yesterday, #BoycottLaalSinghChaddha has been trending on Twitter. Netizens are furious about the film for reasons like nepotism, patriotism, and whatnot. Besides, they are complaining about watching a copied film when the original masterpiece, Forest Gump, is available on the OTT.

The trailer shows an emotional ride of the life of Laal Singh Chaddha. The story revolves around the fascinating and innocent life of Laal Singh Chaddha. Mona Singh plays the role of Aamir Khan’s mother and they share a close bond in the film. One of the dialogues that have touched the hearts is “Meri mummy kehti thi zindagi golgappe jaisi hondi hai, pet bhale hi bhar jaave, mann nahi bharta.” Kareena Kapoor Khan plays the role of Chaddha’s childhood love.

The movie is an official remake of the Hollywood film Forrest Gump. Aamir Khan has reunited with his 3 Idiots co-stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Mona Singh. Besides, Nagarjuna’s son Naga Chaitanya will be making his Bollywood debut with this film. The original Hollywood movie featured Tom Hanks.
