Did Shehnaaz Gill inspire Allu Arjun for his signature hand gesture? Find out

Interestingly, an old video has been dug up which shows singer and actress Shehnaaz Gill performing the exact hand gesture like Pushpa Raj.

Pushpa: The Rise emerged as the highest-grossing film in India in 2021, marking over Rs 300 crore in the box office. Besides, its recent dub in Hindi also crossed the 100-crore mark. What grabbed the attention of the people was Allu Arjun’s performance. Fans seemed to be obsessed with Allu Arjun’s style and swag in the film.

His character Pushpa Raj’s signature gesture of rubbing his chin with the back of his hand has gathered a lot of popularity. Even several celebrities have acted out the gesture in multiple reels. Interestingly, an old video has been dug up which shows singer and actress Shehnaaz Gill performing the exact hand gesture like Pushpa Raj. This video hails from Shehnaaz’s time in Bigg Boss 13 house.

The video has been shared by a fan page of Shehnaaz and the late Siddharth Shukla named, SidNaaz. The video was captioned, “PUSHPA STEP INVENTED BY Shehnaaz Gill in 2019 ??❤️”.

Fans were amazed to see Shehnaaz pioneering the trend and the same gesture being carried out by Pushpa Raj from Pushpa: The Rise, two years later. The video has garnered over 98k likes.

Pushpa: The Rise is running successfully in theatres. Directed by Sukumar, the movie also features Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil in pivotal roles. Its sequel, Pushpa: The Rule is set to release later this year.

Meanwhile, Shehnaaz Gill was last seen in Bigg Boss 15, where she shared the stage with the host, Salman Khan on the grand finale. Shehnaaz gave a heartfelt tribute to the late Siddharth Shukla, his rumoured boyfriend. The duo’s chemistry began during the Bigg Boss days and with their lovable gestured were admired by their fans.

Siddharth Shukla passed away on September 2, 2021, owing to a heart attack.
