Fukrey 3 review: Pulkit Samrat,Varun Sharma’s promising laughter riot that tries hard to deliver a social message

Pitted against their arch enemy Bholi Punjaban (Richa Chadha) yet again, Hunny (Pulkit Samrat) Choocha (Varun Sharma) Lali (Manjot Singh) and Pandit Ji ( Pankaj Tripathi) are this time trying their best to outdo her in the upcoming elections

New Delhi: After a decade-long gap since the release of Fukrey back in 2013, the good old Fukra boys are finally back to entertain us again with even more madness and excitement with the third instalment of the desi comedy Fukrey 3.

Will these 4 hysterical East Delhi boys once again be able to captivate the audience and make Fukrey 3 do justice to the super hit franchise, or will they fail to cater to the taste of today’s era’s generation and fall short of the expectations of the cinemagoers? We shall try to find out both the answers today.

Fukrey 3 Review

With a number of changes in its seller cast, the Fukra gang and their ‘Deja Chu’ are back with a bang to display their swag on the big screens for the third time. Pitted against their arch rival Bholi Punjaban (Richa Chadha) one more time, Hunny (Pulkit Samrat) Choocha (Varun Sharma) Lali (Manjot Singh) and Pandit Ji ( Pankaj Tripathi) are this time trying their best to outdo her in the upcoming elections. While this political battle between Bholi and Fukras is bound to keep you engaged and glued to the screens, the even better jokes cracked by these 4 misfits throughout the film will also make you crack up every then and now.

The Nostalgia Factor

The USP of Fukrey’s third instalment is hands down its crisp dialogues and sharp punchlines that will make it impossible for you not to laugh and appreciate the character’s on-point blunt sarcasm.

While the movie’s numerous callbacks and references from Fukrey 1 and returns guarantee to bring a good old sense of nostalgia to the franchise’s old dedicated fans, the new intriguing story, attachments and challenges faced by its lead characters won’t let the new audience get disappointed either.

Choocha Steals The Show

It seems like Mrighdeep Singh Lamba’s belief in the sincere foolishness of Fukrey’s character has worked in the franchise’s favour one more time. Even after a long gap of 10 years, none of the film’s characters seems out of touch and does perfect justice to their character yet again. While Varun clearly stands out from the rest and steals the show with his hilarious comedy, Richha as Lady Don Bholi Punjaban doesn’t fail to impress the cinegoers with her bold and blunt persona either.

A Dragged And Sluggish Second Half

Although Fukrey 3’s first half is as thrilling, funny and engaging as one can expect it to be, its dragged and slow second half tests the patience of the viewers while reminding them of the movie’s 2:30 hour-long run time about which they had completely forgotten during its entertaining first half.

In the second half of the movie, one gets to realise that the franchise, which has solely flourished on its light-hearted humour tone so far, doesn’t work very well when it comes to getting serious and delivering social messages that clearly feel unnecessary and forced by the time film ends. Other than that, the movie’s unimpactful music doesn’t help in making its second half appeal to the public either and rather makes the film appear more sluggish towards the end.

The Verdict

With all that being said, Fukrey 3 is still a funny and engaging dose of entertainment and thrill just like its previous two instalments that promises to take the viewers on an unforgettable Journey with its top-notch comedy, Jaw aching hilarity and captivating story which is more than enough to make you laugh.

It doesn’t really matter if you have been connected with the Franchise and enjoyed its older instalments or not, Fukrey 3 has everything that it takes to give you a much-needed laughter dose this weekend.
