New Delhi: Alia Bhatt starrer ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ was released in theatres across India on Friday. Sanjay Leela Bhansali has written the screenplay of the movie. It has been also shot in his direction.
Following the first show of the movie, the film has been receiving good responses from viewers on social media. Netizens acclaimed the acting of Alia under the hashtag #GangubaiKathiawadi on Twitter.
Among the netizens, Alia’s B-Town pals, the family members also showered their love on Alia.
In the film, she has essayed the role of a brothel owner in Kamthipura as a Gangubai. Netizens also praised Sanjay Leela Bhansali while some said the film is a masterclass in filmmaking.
Besides Alia Bhatt, actor Shantanu Maheshwari as Afsaan, Vijay Raaz as Raziabi, Indira Tiwari as Kamli, Varun Kapoor as Ramnik Laa and Jim Sarbh as Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru are seen entertaining viewers.
Actor Anil Kapoor also praised Sanjay Leela Bhansali for creating a ‘mesmerising’ world. ”The photography, the music, the dialogues…it is like watching poetry in motion,” added Kapoor.
