Jackie Shroff’s rags to riches narrative begins in a chawl and ends in an eight-bedroom luxury mansion in Mumbai

New Delhi: Jackie Shroff, who was born and raised in Mumbai, made his Hindi film debut in 1982 with the film Swami Dada. He rose to prominence after starring in the 1983 film Hero as the lead. The crowd adored not only the film’s soundtrack, but Jackie Shroff as well, who wowed them with his magnificent performance and charm. He was regarded as one of the most attractive actors of his generation, and it is fair to say that he still exudes that aura and exudes that dashing demeanour.

To get to where he is now, Jackie Shroff had to work really hard and break into the film industry with no prior experience in the field. Jackie had to drop out of school after 11th grade due to a lack of funds in his household. He subsequently began looking for work to help support his family. Jackie Shroff tried his hand at being an apprentice chef and a flight attendant, but he was turned down because he lacked the necessary skills. Jackie used to live in Mumbai’s chawls with his family.

After being turned down for previous jobs, Jackie Shroff began working as a travel agent for a local company to support himself and his family. During that time, an advertising agent noticed this handsome young man and inquired about his interest in modelling. Jackie then went to the agency and completed a picture session, which catapulted him into the modelling industry.

When Subhash Ghai cast him as the lead in Hero, Jackie became an instant celebrity, and he went on to feature in a number of other films, including Ram Lakhan, Tridev, Parinda, Saudagar, Angaar, Sapne Sajan Ke, Gardish, and Khalnayak in 1942. Rangeela, Agnisakshi, Border, Shapath, and others are among the films. Fans adore him not only for his acting in his films, but also for his warm and friendly demeanour.

Jackie Shroff married his longtime fiancée Ayesha Shroff in 1987 after a successful career in films. Tiger Shroff is the couple’s son, while Krishna Shroff is the couple’s daughter.

Jackie Shroff, born Jaikishan Kakubhai Shroff, now lives with his family in a luxury 8-BHK sea-facing flat in Mumbai.
