Zomato tells Bhopal woman not to send food to her ex-lover, netizens say ‘What is this behaviour’

Later, Zomato came up with another follow-up tweet about Ankita in which they claimed that she is trying to send food to her for the fourth time and they have even blocked COD  as a payment option for her account.

New Delhi: Food delivery company Zomato has often made headlines for its satirical, witty and creative tweets. Recently, the app once again made the netizens laugh with their tweet for a lady named Ankita who, as per the tweet, is from Bhopal.

In the viral tweet, Zomato requested the lady not to send food to her ex-boyfriend thrice a day. The hilarious tweet further mentioned that the food was being ordered in cash on delivery but the customer (Ankita’s ex)  was refusing to pay for the same.

Zomato’s tweet for Ankita went viral within hours and made the netizens curious for more details about the incident.

While some claimed that Anikta is actually a real person, others speculated that she must have been a fictional character introduced by the app as a part of their marketing programme. Whatever it may be, the viral tweet for sure triggered a meme fest and gave the internet a much-needed laugh.

Netizens react

One internet user wrote, “This is not done Zomato, give her a break.” Another laughed saying, “Ankita’s ex must feel like he’s caught in an infinite loop of hunger and heartbreak, a COD cycle that never ends!”

A third comment read, “This should be a national debate. Sending food to your ex and expecting to pay is a waste of food and money.”

One Twitter user even went suggesting the food delivery giant to launch a Slap delivery service saying, “It’s okay, Zomato. Consider launching a new service called ‘Deliver a Slap.’ I hope this initiative could be beneficial.”
