New Delhi: A video purportedly of health workers clad in PPE kits burying bodies of Corona victims in a large pit in Yadgiri district of Karnataka has triggered mass outrage on social media.

What’s more shocking is the fact is that it is a repeat of similar incident in Bellary, where the bodies were buried in the big hole in similar manner.

Karnataka - Yadgir body dumping in pit

Dead bodies disposed off like garbage

In the video, two health workers can be seen wearing personal protection kit (PPE), dragging bodies in black sheet apparently from a vehicle parked nearby and then dumped into the large pit, disposing it off like garbage.

The video went viral on social media, drawing wide condemnation cutting across all segments of society.

Dumping of dead body without due procedure

After the Bellary incident created uproar, the Karnataka chief minister had issued instructions the officials to adopt safe and healthy practices in burying the bodies but none of them is being followed.

Such disrespectful handling of dead bodies is enough for the Karnataka administration to wake up and act according to the ground realities. It must understand, there must be ‘dignity from death’ and this must be respected for one and all.
