After CM Yogi’s reprimand, Noida DM transferred; departmental inquiry intiated

Noida DM BN Singh was removed after Yogi Adityanath gave him a dressing down during a review meeting. CM was angry over the lapses by Noida administration in management of the coronavirus crisis.

New Delhi: The Uttar Pradesh Government on Monday transferred Gautam Buddh Nagar District Magistrate BN Singh for the administration’s ill-preparedness in curbing the spread of Coronavirus epidemic.

Singh was removed after Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave him a dressing down during a review meeting. The Chief Minister was particularly angry over the lapses by Noida administration in management of the coronavirus crisis.

UP CM Yogi Adityanath today visited the epidemic hotspot to take stock of the situation and arrangements to contain its spread. During the meeting, CM got furious over the lame excuses by Noida administration.

Stop talking nonsense: CM tells DM

“Ye bakwas band karo apna bakwas kar kar ke aap logon ne poora mahaul kharab ho gaya hai yahan pe.. zimmedariyon ka nirvahan karne ke bajaay ek doosre pe wo (dosh) daalna..”, CM Yogi told the Noida DM.

Noida has so far reported the maximum number of positive coronavirus cases at 38.

Announcing Singh’s transfer, Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary R K Tiwari today told reporters that a departmental inquiry has also been initiated against him.
Special Secretary, Planning Suhas LY has been posted as the new District Magistrate of Gautam Buddh Nagar, the chief secretary said, adding that “he has left for Noida to take over charge”.
