New Delhi: Amidst the heated campaign in poll-bound Telangana, the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leader & MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi openly threatened a policeman on duty and hinted that his “one signal’ was enough to ‘ruin his life’.
The brazen threat by AIMIM MLA came when the police officer tried to intercept his speech and seek a ‘timely end’ to election speech as the Election Commission’s model code of conduct was in place in the state. Notably, the state will vote for electing its new 139 member Assembly, with polling slated for November 30.
A video of Akbaruddin Owaisi pointing fingers at the cop and threatening him was tweeted by news agency ANI. In the video, he could be seen first shouting at the police man and then hurtling towards him to move out of the podium.
“Inspector saab, I have a watch. Please go from here,” Akbaruddin Owaisi said.

“No person has been born who can stop me. A mere signal is enough to make people run,” Akbaruddin said further, in a clear threat to policeman while the crowd cheered for him.
Akbaruddin Owaisi is the brother of AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi. He is contesting from Chandrayangutta, an assembly seat which he has held since 1999.
BJP’s bulldozer reaction to Owaisi’s rant
Akbaruddin Owaisi’s open intimidation of policeman brought him in the crosshairs of public, who slammed the AIMIM leader for the brazen abuse of power.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) took strong objection to his intimidation tactics and warned that the AIMIM leader would ‘get the taste of his medicine’, if saffron party comes to power.
Telangana BJP launched a scathing attack on Congress and the ruling BRS regime and said that they were responsible for mushrooming of a criminal enterprise called AIMIM.
The Telangana BJP via its X handle also warned the AIMIM that any such action of Akbaruddin Owaisi will invite bulldozer action.
“In the BJP govt, for this action of Akbaruddin, there will be a bulldozer reaction,” the BJP said on its X handle.
For decades, with support of Congress & BRS, AIMIM has become a criminal enterprise which has kept the old city deprived & crime ridden.

Bulldozer action is referred to a ruling government’s swift action to punish & persecute the perpetrators of serious offence. It is done by either demolishing a small portion of the house or razing the whole structure, without any prior notice to the victim.
The bulldozer action model, took shape under Yogi government and then went on to get replicated in many BJP ruled states including Madhya Pradesh & Gujarat. The BJP-ruled govts often implemented this ‘bulldozer model’ to clean illegal encroachments and also to evict land encroachers.
