New Delhi: A congregation of 26 political parties came together under one roof in Bengaluru to hammer out a rainbow alliance that will take on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the 2024 Lok Sabha eletions.
INDIA is the new name coined for the alliance that will challenge the BJP government in 2024 elections. For long, there was speculation on this front that a new name & identity will be carved for providing the coalition with new energy & vigour to take on the saffron party.
All parties of the coalition today spoke in one voice and asserted that the ‘oppressive’ Modi government was not just suppressing the voice of people but also damaging democratic institutions & constitutional bodies of the country.
“The government is attacking the idea of India and passing on benefits to its rich businessmen friends while making the life of poor more difficult,” Rahul said.
How social media reacted
The Opposition leaders despite differences within, wore confidence on their sleeve and took to Twitter to announce that it will be NDA VS INDIA.
They claimed that the new alliance will give the BJP ideology a run for their money, however, many netizens were not impressed with the claim.
Many memes surfaced on the social media mocking the coming together of 26 political parties while others took dig at the rainbow alliance, which joined hands with sheer purpose of ousting BJP from power. Though, some also supported the idea of INDIA & its pledge to dislodge ‘communal forces’ from power.
