CM Yogi asks officials to increase number of beds, staff at Covid-19 hospitals

“The state government is committed to keeping the public safe from the COVID-19 infection. The government is committed to keep the pandemic away from the state and provide better treatment to the people, ” CM Yogi Adityanath said.

New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath has asked state government officials to ramp up survey, increase contact tracing and to immediately address the issue of shortage of beds and staff at Covid-19 hospitals in the state.

The Chief Minister has been micromanaging the state’s preparedness and its fight against the deadly pandemic. Recently, he inaugurated largest Covid-19 hospital with 400 beds in Noida and 300-bedded hospital in Gorakhpur. Now, the CM wants to ensure that these hospitals are well-equipped and adequately supplied with resources to take the virus infection head on.

As per the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), CM Yogi has instructed officials of Lucknow, Kanpur Nagar and Prayagraj to increase contact tracing to control the COVID-19 virus.

Pointing out that action must be taken to increase the number of beds in L-2 and L-3 COVID-19 hospitals, he instructed, “Accelerate the process of increasing manpower in COVID-19 hospitals by training doctors and paramedical staff.”

Just days ago, the Chief Minister had set a target of making 50,000 beds available in L-2 and L-3 level hospitals.

Emphasising on the time-bound disposal of cases of entrepreneurs and investors, the CM instructed the officials to call a meeting with them soon, in which he will interact with them and receive feedback.
