CM Yogi mulls action against district officials guilty of negligence in grievance redressal

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed strong displeasure over the negligence in redressal of public grievances and has directed action against the guilty district-level officers.

New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed strong displeasure over the negligence in redressal of public grievances and has directed action against the guilty district-level officers.

CM Yogi will also review the public hearing, IGRS and CM Helpline through video conferencing soon. The Chief Secretary has issued orders to all district and commissionerate level officers in this regard.

CM Yogi had recently directed the Chief Secretary and Director General of Police to ensure that the district magistrates and the police captains in the state remained sensitive towards prompt and satisfactory resolution of people’s problems and disposed of people’s complaints in a time bound manner.

Earlier also, the Chief Minister has given instructions for timely disposal of public grievances through video conferencing from time to time and has warned of action against guilty officers in districts, tehsils and police stations identified to be having more such cases.

CM to review identified tehsils and police stations through video conferencing

The Chief Secretary has said in the order that CM Yogi will soon conduct video conferencing for public hearing as well as review of IGRS and CM Helpline. In the absence of quality and speedy disposal of public complaints received on IGRS and CM helpline, strict action will be taken against the concerned officers after fixing responsibilities on them. The CM has also ordered that the identified tehsils and police stations should be specially reviewed and if needed, should be visited to dispose of cases amicably, according to the prevalent standards. Orders have also been given for action against the erring employees in case a complainant has to lodge a complaint twice.

“Resolve problems of public representatives on priority basis”

The Chief Secretary has ordered that the problems of public representatives be resolved on a priority basis during public hearings, while recommending fortnightly and monthly meetings with the representatives in this regard from time to time.

Apart from this, the officers have been directed to remain in touch with the public representatives and senior officers through CUG (closed user group) number.

According to the latest available data for the month of May this year, the top ten performing districts in terms of rederssing people’s grievances are Pilibhit, Etah, Moradabad, Banda, Sambhal, Sitapur, Unnao, Bahraich, Farrukhabad and Amethi while the worst performers are Prayagraj, Rae Bareli, Pratapgarh, Basti, Mirzapur, Kaushambi, Sonbhadra, Bhadohi, Meerut and Ayodhya.

Meanwhile, the top 10 districts where the Police performed well in May are Siddharthnagar, Bhadohi, Farrukhabad, Mahoba, Saharanpur, Ghazipur, Shamli, Kasganj, Sonbhadra and Jalaun.

The worst performers are Police Commissioner, Lucknow; SSP Prayagraj; Agra; Police Commissioner, Kanpur City; SSP, Mainpuri, Sambhal, Kanpur Dehat, Pratapgarh, Kheri and Gorakhpur.
