CM Yogi takes stock of heat wave conditions, instructs officials on measures to fight off hot weather

The Hindi heartland states including Uttar Pradesh & Bihar are facing an extended hot spell this year. People are reeling under extreme conditions and finding it difficult to deal with extra hot weather.

New Delhi: With Uttar Pradesh in the grip of heat wave, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday chaired a high-level meet with top officials and reviewed the situation arising from sweltering heat. The Chief Minister asked the officials to swifly put into motion, state govt’s heat wave action plan also gave them slew of instructions on fighting off the hot weather.

The Hindi heartland states including Uttar Pradesh & Bihar are facing an extended hot spell this year. People are reeling under extreme conditions and finding it difficult to deal with extra hot weather. As per reports, more than 50 people have succumbed to the heat wave.

The Chief Minister issued string of instructions to officials and directed that a comprehensive mechanism be put in place to comfort the citizens from sweltering heat.

CM Yogi told officials that all means should be put in place not just to safeguard lives but also to ensure that hardships of people are mitigated. He also asked officials to take steps for the safety of stray animals.

CM’s instructions on fighting heat wave

People should be made aware on the sweltering heat wave conditions & how to deal with it

There shouldn’t be any scarcity or deficiency of drinking water, especially highways & expressways; if needed water containers be put up there

All people facing any ailment must be admitted to hospitals and due arrangements should be made for this

Weather department should issue regular bulletin to impress upon people about what to expect the next day

Efforts should be made to ensure water supply to sanctuaries & gardens for their protection, as per state govt’s heat wave action plan

Gaushalas must not suffer water deficit, ensure adequate supply of water & fodder

Places which have scarce supply of water should be provided with water tankers to tackle the deficit
