New Delhi: Dr Irfan Ansari, Congress MLA of Jharkhand’s Jamtara, invited widespread criticism for himself as he promised to make roads smoother than actor Kangana Ranaut’s cheeks in his constituency. He has been going viral for his utterance in a video since he dropped it on social media on Friday. A Twitter user said that Ansari’s words are an insult to ‘’the dignity of a woman’’.
In his video, Dr Irfan Ansari said, ‘’I assure you that 14 important roads of Jamtara will be made smoother than cheeks of film actress Kangana Ranaut. It will be used by tribal children. Youths and businessmen will also use it.’’

Earlier this week, he had raised controversy by claiming masks can be detrimental to health if uses for a long time. He further said prolonged use of masks will be like inhalation of carbon dioxide.
This remark amid the spike in COVID-19 cases in the country has landed him in controversy. It was condemned by opposition leaders as well as the Congress party leaders.
Notably, RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav once made a similar claim in 2005 when he had said that he would make roads as smooth as actor Hema Malini’s cheeks.
