New Delhi: As a preventive measure to prevent spread of Corona Virus (COVID-19), the lockdown implemented has resulted in public transport services to be suspended and taxis, autos etc. are also not plying. Expectedly people, particularly poorer section have to face certain hardships including commuting to hospitals in emergency medical needs due to non availability of appropriate transport.

Moreover ambulances are also over burdened in dealing with various emergencies and not able to cater to the need of people. At this time of emergency PCR MPVs have stepped into for the help of people. PCR MPVs are prepared to provide assistance to people requiring emergency hospitalisation like women in labour pain, heart attack patients or any other persons in need of emergency hospitalization due to life threatening medical issues.

Delhi Police patrol staff shifts 38 pregnant women to hospitals during lockdown

During the last 24 hrs, PCR MPVs have shifted as many as 38 women in labour pain to various hospitals all across Delhi. The PCR MPVs reach the distressed women in quickest possible time. The calls of women in labour pain were received from almost all districts of Delhi, Viz. 8 from South, 6 from Outer-North, 4 from East, 4 from Outer, 4 from West, 4 from North-West, 3 from South-East, 2 from Shahdara, 2 from North and 1 from Dwarka.

The distress calls are even received at odd hours as well as from remote areas. Out of these, 05 calls were received at odd hours between 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM and some places were as far as 15 km from nearest multi speciality hospitals. The MPV staff displayed professionalism and dedication by shifting these ladies to appropriate hospitals safely in quickest possible time. The above tasks are performed by PCR MPVs besides attending many other distress callers.

The PCR staff has displayed alertness, keen sense of observation, devotion to duty and professionalism and showing humane face by shifting 38 women in labour pain.
