e-Vidhan will help in taking UP forward in terms of development: CM Yogi

Expecting the public representatives of the Uttar Pradesh government to be courteous and patient towards the people of the state, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath asked them to keep themselves away from ‘contract leases’ and ‘transfer postings’.

New Delhi: Expecting the public representatives of the Uttar Pradesh government to be courteous and patient towards the people of the state, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath asked them to keep themselves away from ‘contract leases’ and ‘transfer postings’.

“Those who tend to show loyalty towards ‘contract leases’ and ‘transfer postings’ instead of the people, are thrown out of the system. Hence, the public representatives should focus on making efforts to implement the schemes of the central and state government,” said the CM while concluding the event organised for the enlightenment of the MLAs in Vidhan Sabha on Saturday.

“The 25 crore people of the state have chosen all 403 of you to be their leaders with great confidence. So, you have to be accountable to the public,” said CM Yogi, adding, “Set your timetable to fulfil the promises you have made to the people. We have decided to be on district tours by the end of the week. All of you should also do the same. From Monday to Thursday, we will take care of the administrative work here in the capital. Public reps can make an appointment to meet me during the week too.”

He stated that the image of an ideal public representative will give you an identity throughout your life. On the other hand, the negative image too will stick with you for the rest of your life. So, we should avoid negativity. People see everything be it the activities happening in the Vidhan Sabha or on the roads. If you do negative work, your image among people will be the same way. Hence, we have to move forward with a positive attitude, which will lead to people expressing confidence in you.

Highlighting that he has been in politics since 1998, CM Yogi said, “I have been both MLA and MP and realised that the more intimately a public representative connects with the people, the more he will be able to work with confidence. When I was an MP, I saw that thousands of children were dying every year due to the outbreak of Encephalitis in Gorakhpur and surrounding areas. Hence, when I became the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh after 20 years, I immediately started working on it by establishing inter-departmental coordination.” As a result, there has been a 95 percent decline in the number of deaths due to encephalitis in the state. This model came in handy during the COVID-19 period too, which was appreciated as a model in the country and the world.

He also pointed out the hideous condition of BRD medical college when he became the CM of the state. “The management of the medical college was helpless due to the paucity of resources. By collecting resources with local support, I made them available to the college,” he stated, adding that as soon as he became the CM, he spared no efforts to eradicate the encephalitis from the root.

Joint session of the assembly on June 6, President to address the assembly

“On June 6, there will be a joint session of the Legislative Assembly, which will be attended by the President. We all have to listen to him graciously,” said Yogi Adityanath, adding, “There should be discussions in the house, no matter how long they take. This practice identifies you as a good and ideal public representative. This is how your tenure will be recognised.”

Claiming that everyone coming to the Legislative Assembly is not a member of the ruling or opposition party but a public representative, the CM said, “When we work with innovation, the message goes far. Our efforts should be to raise issues of public interest in fewer words.”

Referring to the e-Vidhan system, CM Yogi said that a good effort has been made to implement the e-Vidhan program in Uttar Pradesh. “Every one of you already uses smartphones and other electronic devices. Hence, the newly implemented system is not going to be a problem in any way. Using the technology, we will be able to take UP forward in terms of development,” he added

Uttar Pradesh is progressing through mutual coordination

CM Yogi also appealed to the public reps to set an example for the people of Uttar Pradesh through mutual coordination and discussion. “Our government has already started working on improving the mutual coordination and discussions. As a result, Alvida Namaz did not happen on the streets and there was no discrimination in taking off the loudspeakers from the religious places,” said Yogi, adding, “We accomplished this by coordinating and discussing. The loudspeakers that have been taken down have been donated to schools. Everything happened with mutual cooperation.”
