UP police debunks fake video

Soon after the claim & video went viral, the UP Police took to Twitter and debunked the false claim.

Flagging the video as fake, it said that it is an old video and also belongs to Kaimur district of Bihar & not Uttar Pradesh.

What is the Video about?

The incident happened in Bhabua of Kaimur district in Bihar, a year ago. The video is of a ward councillor’s son, who was brutally thrashed by the angry locals. The councillor’s son had shot at a man due to personal enmity and latter succumbed to injuries in hospital. This left the locals outraged who took law into their hands and started pelting stones at the hospital.

The agitated crowd also vandalised shops & business centres near the hospital and also beat up passersby.

When they got hold of the accused son of Bhabua ward councillor, they beat him black & blue. While the mob thrashed him, slogans of Jai Shri Ram echoed from the crowd.
The video was purportedly shot by a bystander.
