FIR filed against Mark Zuckerberg over derogatory post against Samajwadi chief Akhilesh Yadav

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has a case filed against him over an alleged controversial post involving Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has a case filed against him over an alleged controversial post involving Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav. The cased has been lodged at a court in the Kannauj district. Apart from Zuckerberg, 49 names are registered in the FIR.

Reportedly, Zuckerberg did not post anything defamatory against Yadav. His name has been involved in the FIR because his platform was used to post derogatory comments against Yadav.

Amit Kumar, who is a resident of Sarahati village in Kannauj district has registered an FIR against Zuckerberg along with 49 others for posting defaming statements against Akhilesh Yadav.

In his application, Amit Kumar has alleged that an attempt was made to defame the Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on a Facebook page named “Bua Babua.”

On May 25, Amit Kumar sent a complaint to the Superintendent of Police, however, no action was taken. Following this, he moved his application to the court and demanded a case to be registered against the admin of the Facebook page “Bua Babua” and also the CEO of Facebook.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Dharamveer Singh asked the police to file a case based on the complaint made by Amit Kumar.

Reportedly when the two political rivals namely BSP chief Mayawati and Akhilesh Yadav allied in the 2019 parliamentary election, the term “Bua Babua” was created.

“During the course of investigation Zuckerberg`s name was dropped, even as investigation is being carried out against the administrator of the (Facebook) page,” said a senior police official.
