The focus today will be on the hospitality sector, according to sources. The hospitality sector has been severely hit in the wake of the nationwide lockdown since March 25.

Sitharaman will be holding daily press conferences till Sunday

Sitharaman has been announcing the tranches of the Rs 20 lakh crore package announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. PM Modi had announced the package during his address to the nation on Tuesday, vowing to make the country ‘Atmanirbhar’ or self-reliant.

On Thursday (May 14) Sitharaman announced the second tranche of measures related to Atmanirbhar Bharat. The FM 2nd tranche of package laid focus on migrant workers, street vendors, small traders, small farmers.

EPF contribution for private sector cut to 10% for three months

For migrant labour, FM announced additional food grain to all the states/UTs at the rate of 5 kg per migrant labourer and 1 kg Chana per family per month for two months i.e. May and June 2020 free of cost.
