Govt hiding our poor people & animals from G20 guests, says Rahul Gandhi

Congress party has been targeting the Centre, in last few days by sharing videos of city slums being hidden from public by erecting large billboards and barbaric treatment of dogs.

New Delhi: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, currently on a trip to Brusssels, trained guns at the Narendra Modi dispensation on Saturday over the ‘spruced up’ arrangements of G20 Summit in the national capital.

While the first day of G20 Summit kicked off in the national capital, the Congress leader took to X and questioned why the government was hiding our poor people & animals from the foreign delegates.

Rahul’s question comes on back of drive by civic authorities to curb the dog & monkey menace in Central Delhi areas including the Rajghat.

Congress party has been targeting the Centre, in last few days by sharing videos of city slums being hidden from public by erecting large billboards and barbaric treatment of dogs.

In another video, Congress claimed that street dogs were being cruelly dragged by their neck and thrown into cages.

It said that cruel treatment was being meted out to voiceless animals while the govt was spending crores on city beautification.

The party demanded that these voiceless creatures must not be harassed & made to suffer in name of city hosting world leaders for the Summit.

Jairam’s charge at Centre

Congress general Secretary Jairam Ramesh alleged that while the two big democracies are meeting for bilateral, the voice of mediapersons was being silenced. He claimed that the press was denied from asking questions from either PM Modi or US Prez Joe Biden.

“This is how democracy is done Modi-style,” he tweeted.

Cong miffed over ‘no invite to Kharge’

Congress party was also miffed over G20 dinner invite not being sent to party president Mallikarjun Kharge. The party dubbed it low-level politics by the Centre. Rahul also tore into Modi govt over snub to Kharge, saying that the Centre had no respect for a person, who is not just the chief of main opposition party but also commands respect across all party lines.
