‘Har Ghar Nal’ scheme for Vindhya region: Every household will get drinking water by 2022, says CM Yogi

CM Yogi announced the ambitious Rs 6,000 crore “Har Ghar Nal’ scheme for Vindhya Region. He said it will change the fortune of this region and in two-years time, every household will have a pure water facility.

New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Ji has said that Mirzapur holds an immense potential of tourism-based development and subsequent employment generation. Despite being the abode of Ma Vindhyavasini, this region has remained neglected since the independence but now this area is fast turning a new leaf of growth and progress, he added.

Rs 6,000 crore pure water scheme sanctioned for Vindhya Region

Directing officials to prepare an extensive action-plan for the development of Vindhyachal Dham with an eye on religious tourism, the CM announced that an ambitious Rs 6,000 crore scheme of “Har Ghar Nal’ has been sanctioned for Vindhya Region. He said it will change the fortune of this region and in two-years time, every household will have a pure water facility.

In a series of the divisional review meetings, the CM on Wednesday was reviewing the progress of ongoing and planned developmental projects in Mirzapur division comprising Mirzapur, Bhadohi and Sonbhadra districts. The Divisional Commissioner gave a presentation on the status of eight projects worth over Rs 50 crore.

The DMs of three districts gave their respective presentations, mainly about projects worth Rs 10 crore to Rs 50 crore. Mirzapur has 12 such projects while Bhadohi and Sonbhadra have three and 13 respectively.
The Chief Minister expressed happiness over completion of Ashtbhuja and Kalikhoh ropeway project on PPP model. He said the existing tourism schemes should be further expanded.

He expressed satisfaction over the developmental work in Sonbhadra and said that as an aspirational district, the district has done well. The CM asked the authorities to maintain the momentum of development. The CM chose the occasion to announce that the airstrip of Sonbhadra will be converted into an airport, which will open new vistas of development in this region. Once dubbed as backward, Bundelkhand now moving ahead on the path of progress like any other developed region.

Promote products under ‘One District, One Product’ scheme: CM tells officials

He also directed the officials to promote products under ‘One District, One Product’ scheme in a systematic manner and the respective districts should prepare detailed action-plan in this regard.

He directed to boost carpet export further by preparing an action-plan to operationalise Expo Mart. Pointing out that Bhadohi is identified with the carpet industry, hence the proper attention should be accorded to its branding. He said that the government is planning an international conference next year and till then the branding logistics should be in place. He also asked to expedite construction of veterinary college in Bhadohi.

CM also interacted with Members of Parliament and Legislators from the division during the review meeting through video conferencing.

Laying emphasis on the better coordination between officials and the public representatives in the larger interest of the people of the state, he directed the administrative officers to take an early decision on their proposals.

The CM said that the names of public representatives should be mentioned in the development projects and they should be invited to inaugurate such projects.

Sonbhadra to have an airport soon

He particularly directed the DM of Sonbhadra to personally invite Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri to inaugurate the project, for which he has contributed from his MP fund.

The CM reiterated that the any delay in development projects will not be tolerated. He asked to ensure that the release of funds for various projects should take place smoothly and that is only possible by making available the utilisation certificate 80 percent physical completion of the project on a timely basis.

He also directed officials to dispose off land related matters expeditiously because the unavailability of land adversely impacts the developmental works.

Yogi Kushinagar airport -

The Chief Minister instructed the authorities to finish construction work of Government Engineering College in Sonbhadra and IT Engineering College in Mirzapur beside directing them to commence functioning of Medical College in Mirzapur. During the course of the meeting, Mirzapur MP Anupriya Patel demanded a new bridge on Ganga river.

Those present in the meeting included the Chief Secretary, Shri R K Tiwari, Agriculture Production Commissioner Shri Alok Sinha, Additional Chief Secretary, Home, Shri Awanish Kumar Awasthi, Additional Chief Secretary and many other high dignitaries.
