
Hizbul Commander Riyaz Naikoo killed by security forces in Pulwama encounter
New Delhi: Top Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Riyaz Naikoo has been eliminated in a joint operation led by security forces and police here in Beighpor area of Awantipora in Pulwama district on Wednesday.
The operation to nab Riyaz Naikoo — who was the senior-most active commander in Kashmir — is being seen as a big win for security agencies.

Naikoo became the de facto chief of the terror group after the death of the terror group’s Kashmir commander Burhan Wani, who was killed in July 2016.
“One unidentified terrorist has been killed in the operation that is underway in Beighpor area of Awantipora. More details awaited,” Kashmir Zone Police tweeted.

Meanwhile, two terrorists were gunned down at Sharshali Khrew area of Awantipora.
