‘I stopped the intruders, snatched smoke-emitting canisters’: Cong MP on Lok Sabh security breach

“He had something in his hand which was emitting yellow-coloured smoke. I snatched it away and continued throwing it outside…This is a major security breach…,” Cong MP said while speaking to press outside the Parliament complex.

New Delhi: The major security breach in Lok Sabha during the Zero Hour left the Parliamentarians shocked & stunned while the countrymen watched the events unfold with deep concern & anxiousness over the security of temple of democracy.

Though, the two miscreants have been nabbed for intruding into the House and are currently being grilled by Delhi Police, it has come to light that a Congress MP was the person who took the lead in confronting the ‘attackers’ and reined them in.

Speaking to press outside the Parliament complex, Congress MP Gurjeet Singh Ahuja said that he snatched the gas-emitting canisters from the accused and threw it away.

Narrating the incident, he said that the miscreants had something in hand which emitted yellow-coloured smoke. They reportedly ran past the desks while emitting yellow smoke.

“He had something in his hand which was emitting yellow-coloured smoke. I snatched it away and continued throwing it outside…This is a major security breach…,” Cong MP said while speaking to press outside the Parliament complex.

Earlier in the day during Zero Hour, two men from the visitors gallery jumped into the House amidst the lawmakers and then started hopping on the desks. While the lawmakers looked at it in disbelief, some of them took lead and nabbed those carrying ‘smoke bomb’ with support from security personnel.

Notably, the shocking incident of Lok Sabha security breach comes on a day when the nation is observing 22th anniversary of 2001 Parliament terror attack. The attack was led by Pakistan-sponsored terrorists and was confronted by security personnel. In the fierce gun fight, 9 people including 8 security personnel lost their lives.

Probe revealed that the Pak-based terrorists had intentions of either eliminating country’s top leadership or keeping them hostage for some days.
