New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a man ate the tail and ears of two puppies with salt while he drank alcohol in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly district.
The incident is said to have taken place in the SDM colony of Faridpur area in Bareilly district. According to the police, the puppies were bleeding after the man chopped their ear and tail.
Police said the puppies’ condition is critical and both are currently undergoing treatment.
It is said the accused Mukesh Valmiki was drinking alcohol with another person when they performed this inhuman act.
Meanwhile, a complaint has been filed at the local police station after which a case was registered against the accused under the Cruelty to Animals Act.
The complaint was filed by Dheeraj Pathak, a member of People for Animals, an organisation working for the welfare of animals.
Following this, an investigation was launched and strict action will be taken against the accused, said Senior superintendent of police Akhilesh. Chaurasia.
However, this is not the first time that such cases of animal cruelty have come to the light.
