New Delhi: In a shocking incident a death of a girl and her cousin has left everyone shocked in Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh puzzled.
The incident is said to have been taken place in Majhgawan village, where the youth bowed to his sister’s body and then laid down in her pyre.
Later, the girl’s cousin was also cremated near the pyre of the sister.
According to Police, the girl who was identified as Jyoti alias Preeti Dangi had gone missing on Thursday evening. On Friday, her body was found in the well.
It is said that the girl died after she slipped into a well in Sagar district’s Majhgawan village on Friday.
After this, the girl’s cousin Karan reached Majhgawan on his bike from Dhar district — covering almost 450km.
He parked the vehicle on the road side and had gone to the location where Jyoti was being cremated.
Police said that bowing down to the blazing pyre of his sister, and laid down on it.
Soon after this was noticed by the villagers, he was rushed to the hospital, where he died midway.
Following his death, Karan Dangi’s last rites were performed on Sunday afternoon near Jyoti’s pyre.
According to the former sarpanch of Majhgwa village, Bharat Singh, informed media that the boy died due to burns after he fell on his sister’s pyre. He died on his way to hospital.
Meanwhile, Police are investigating the matter and is trying to find out the exact reasons behind the girl’s death and how her cousin committed suicide.
Also, a case has been resisted in this regard.
