More than 8.73 lakh Golden Cards distributed at the melas in last 2 years

As many as 1.53 lakh people were referred to higher medical centres for further treatment in the melas conducted by the state government in association with the Indian Medical Association.

Lucknow: The CM Arogya Melas have been a grand success story in the last more than 2 years. A total of One crore patients suffering from various ailments have been treated during the ‘Mukhyamantri Arogya Melas’ organised at every primary health centre (PHC) in the state.

As many as 1.53 lakh people were referred to higher medical centres for further treatment in the melas conducted by the state government in association with the Indian Medical Association. While 8.73 lakh Golden Cards were distributed at the melas so far.The data clearly reflects the popularity of these melas among the public.

Chairing a high level meeting with the officials on Monday, the Chief Minister said that “The Mukhyamantri Arogya Melas aimed to provide people with the best treatment and accessible health services at rural level are serving their purpose. Efforts should be made to benefit more people from these melas organized at the primary health centers.”

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had launched the statewide Mukhyamantri Jan Arogya Mela on February 2, 2020 in Chandauli district. The programme is aimed at making people aware of the schemes being run by the health department and providing them with health services in their vicinity along with distributing ‘Golden Health’ cards and other benefits.

The fourth Arogya Mela of the fourth phase was organized following the Covid-19 protocol. All the patients and their accompanying relatives were informed that facilities for testing and treatment of corona virus are also available in the hospitals.

In the 42nd mela organised on May 1, as many as 1.63 lakh patients —which include 65552 men, 72267 women and 25889 children — were treated by specialist doctors and paramedics. Also, as many as 1383 serious patients were referred to bigger hospitals. As many as 6488 Golden Cards were distributed at the mela. In addition to this, more than 7051 doctors, 23198 paramedical staffers offered services at the melas organised across the state.

An appeal was made to the people through loudspeakers that in case of complaints of fever, cough, cold, and shortness of breath, immediately contact the nearest ‘Mera Covid Kendra’ for immediate diagnosis and treatment.

In view of the summer season, instructions have been given to ensure proper availability of clean drinking water for the beneficiaries of Arogya Mela in all primary health centers.

The health services in Uttar Pradesh have vastly improved with the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath putting it on its priority. Not only has the state successfully battled with COVID-19 but with various health schemes, the Yogi Government has benefitted lakhs of people.
