
Pakistani terrorist captured in J&K, 19-year-old Ali Babar Patra hails from Okhara
New Delhi: In a major operation by the security forces, a Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist hailing from Pakistan was captured by the Indian Army on Tuesday.
The 19-year-old LeT terrorist named Ali Babar Patra is a native of Okhara in the Punjab province of Pakistan. He was captured by the security forces in an operation in the Uri sector of Jammu & Kashmir.
Speaking to the press, the Indian Army informed that 1 terrorist was also neutralised.
“1 terrorist neutralized, another terrorist caught during an operation in the Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir,” Major General Virendra Vats, GOC, 19 Infantry Division said.

The Army conducted a major operation along the Line of Control in Uri Sector for over 9 days. It was on September that the forces detected an infiltration attempt by terrorists, following which encounter broke out.
A huge cache of arms and ammunition has also been recovered from their custody. A total of 7 AK series weapons, 9 pistols and revolvers and more than 80 grenades and Indian & Pak currency were found in the Uri operation.
An operation was carried out over 9-days along LoC in Uri sector. It started on Sep 18, when our patrol along LoC detected infiltration movement. When encounter took place, 2 infiltrators came across the border, while 4 were on the other side: GOC, 19 Infantry Division, in Uri

Pak hand in infiltration
According to the Indian Army, the infiltrators had the backing of Pakistani side as they were reportedly accompanied by the porters who came along these LeT terrorists with supplies.
“The movement of such a large group of people can’t take place without the complicity of the Pak army deployed on the other side,” said Major General Virendra Vats, GOC, 19 Infantry Division.
This infiltration attempt reportedly took place Salamabad nallah. It’s the same area from where terrorists had sneaked into Indian territory and carried out suicide attack at Uri Army base.
This infiltration attempt was made in the area of Salamabad Nala, the same area through which we have had a history of infiltration in 2016. This infiltration group was supported by Pak side by 3 porters who had come till LoC along with supplies: Indian Army
