The University of Mysore was established in 1916. It was the sixth university in the country and the first in Karnataka.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Centenary Convocation of the University of Mysore today (October 19). While addressing the convocation PM Modi said that at every level of education, the gross enrolment ratio of girls are higher than boys across the country.

Even in higher education, and in relation to innovation and technology, the participation of girls has increased, he added.
