New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a video of an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA in Punjab being slapped by her husband in public has gone viral on social media triggering anger and calls for action.
In the video, the Punjab MLA, Baljinder Kaur, can be allegedly being slapped by her husband, also an AAP leader, at their home.
In the 42 seconds long video, the couple can be seen arguing in the presence of a few other people when the husband, when her husband Sukhraj Singh, suddenly slaps her. After this, he was dragged away by others who were present at the spot.
The incident is said to be of July which has now grabbed the limelight, as it was captured on CCTV camera near the couple’s home in Talwandi Sabo.
Meanwhile, the AAP has not commented on the clip.
She is a two-time MLA from Talwandi Sabo. She did not file a complaint, but however the Punjab State Women’s Commission has stepped into the matter.

It was in 2019, that Baljinder Kaur married Sukhraj Singh. Kaur is a member of the national executive of AAP and heads the party’s women wing in Punjab.
Before making a debut in politics, she had worked as a professor of English at Mata Gujri College at Fatehgarh Sahib. She had joined AAP and won her first election in Punjab in 2017.
