Punjab: In Patiala, Nihang Sikhs attack SHO of Punjab police; hospitalised

The altercation happened during a protest march carried out by some groups including Nihang Sikhs to protest against Shiv Sena’s proposed march.

New Delhi: In a shocking development, a group of Nihang Sikhs attacked Punjab police personnel including a Station House Officer (SHO).

The SHO is said to have been injured in the attack and is currently hospitalised.

Initially, some channels reported that the attacker slashed the wrist of SHO with sharp weapon but the same has been refuted by Patiala DC DC Sakshi.

Issuing a statement over Nihang Sikhs-police clashes, he said that the SHO is injured and is currently getting treatment at a government hospital.

The altercation happened during a protest march carried out by some groups including Nihang Sikhs to protest against Shiv Sena’s proposed march.

Shiv Sena’s Harish Singla had announced a march against Khalistani campaign today and sought participation of maximum people.
