Rahul Gandhi rides motorcycle taxi in Goa, interacts with fishermen (VIDEO)

While campaigning in the poll-bound Goa, the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was seen riding on a motorcycle ‘Pilot’ on Saturday.

New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi made a day-long visit for the party’s poll campaign in Goa on Saturday. During the day, Rahul stopped by an eatery to have lunch and was then spotted riding pillion on a Goa’s motorcycle taxi ‘Pilot’ in Panaji. Reportedly, he took a 5 km ride from Bambolim to Azad Maidan in Panaji.

The official Twitter page of the Indian National Congress (INC) shared the video captioning it as, “How best to connect with our people? Reach out to them when they are in their comfort zone. Shri@RahulGandhi setting examples for all leaders in India to follow.” The page also used a hashtag in the tweet stating #RahulGandhiWithGoa.

Rahul Gandhi interacted with the fishermen community at Velsao beach in South Goa. He told locals that the words of assurances that the party will be giving in regards to the election manifesto in the state will not just be a promise but a “guarantee.”

He also stated that he will keep a check that the coastal state would not turn into a “coal hub.” “We will not allow Goa to become a polluted place. We will not allow it to become a Coal hub. The most important thing that Goa has is the environment and that has to be protected at all costs. We are protecting the environment for everyone,” he added.

The poll manifesto will be conducted in an open and transparent manner. Besides, he also made a sharp criticism against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for its alleged involvement in inciting hatred and division among citizens.

“I am not here to waste your time or my time. Just as your time is important, my time is important…The commitment that we will make to you in manifesto is not just a commitment, but a guarantee,” said Rahul Gandi. “My credibility is important to me. Unlike many other leaders, when I say something here, I will make sure it happens. If I come here I say to you that we will not allow coal hub and I don’t do it, next time I come here I will have no credibility,” he added.

The assembly election in Goa will take place next year.
