Rahul Gandhi takes truck ride with Indian trucker in US, duo listen to Moosewala song (VIDEO)

During the long truck ride, the Congress leader & truck driver discussed the plight of Indian truck drivers and compared it that of United States.

New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Ganhdi, during his recent trip to United States, took a truck ride from Washington DC to New York, with an Indian truck driver Tajinder Singh.

Rahul also took to Twitter today to share the video of his 190 km long ‘American Truck Sawaari’ with an Indian truck driver Tajinder Singh.

During the long truck ride, the Congress leader & truck driver discussed the plight of Indian truck drivers, comparing it to that of United States.

Tajinder Singh explained to Rahul that the truckers in US were lot ahead than their counterparts back home, not just in terms of money but also in comfort & ease of living.

Tajinder in a candid admission told the Congress leader that driving truck in US was a dignified job and it also ensured good remuneration there, unlike in India. He said that an average trucker in US can make upto $10,000 in US and hence better equipped to take care of himself & his family.

Congress leader, when enquired about daily travails of his & fellow truckers experiences, he informed that they had permission to drive only for 14 hours a day as it was compulsory to take 10 hours of rest.

While discussing truckers situation, they also spoke about Indian singer Sidhu Moosewala.

When the trucker said the singer was yet to get justice, Rahul asked him to play Sidhu Moosewala song.

“Sidhu Moose Wala ka 295 lagao”, said Rahul, to which latter obliged.

Rahul ended his 190-km journey with the Indian trucker, after breakfast in New York.

However, Rahul’s interaction with truckers is not new. Last month, he took a truck ride in India also. He took a late-night truck ride from Delhi to Chandigarh on May 23 and discussed the hardships & hurdles faced by them.
