Victim has made shocking revelations as she alleges that Patra kept her locked in a confined room for days without food or water

New Delhi: A 29-year-old tribal woman has been rescued by Ranchi police from the residence of ex-IAS officer BB Patra’s wife and BJP leader Seema Patra on Monday. The politician had allegedly kept her captive for over 8 years inside her house and performed extreme atrocities on her.

The victim has been identified as Seema Patra’s domestic help Sunita and reportedly belongs to the Gumla tribe. A case has been registered, and the woman is receiving treatment at the local hospital.

Inhumane torture that Sunita revealed

The victim Sunita has made shocking revelations as she alleges that Patra kept her locked in a confined room for days without food or water. She further said that Seema used to beat her regularly and has burned her with hot utensils on various body parts.

Due to continuous thrashing, Sunita’s health deteriorated and she used to drag on the floor being unable to walk. She claimed that she was made to lick her urine from the floor and her front teeth were also smashed by an iron rod.

However, she also said that Patra’s son would often save her from his mother and is the reason she’s still alive.

How she was rescued

When Vivek Baski, a Personnel Department official received information about the alleged atrocities on Sunita, he took the matter to DC Rahul Kumar Sinha, who freed her in the presence of the district magistrate.

Further, the an FIR has been registered on Baski’s complaint at Argora police station in Ranchi under sections 323, 325, 346, 374 of IPC and sections of SC-ST Act 1989. An official told that Sunita’s statement will be recorded in the court under section 164 after her she recovers.

Meanwhile, if reports are to be believed, BJP has suspended Seema Patra, who was a member of the national working committee of its women wing.
