New Delhi: It was a moment of euphoria for Ayodhya residents as reel-life Lord Ram, brother Laxman & Goddess Sita arrived in the holy city on Wednesday.

Local residents, already overjoyed with the historic consecration ceremony slated for January 22, found themselves pleasantly surprised when the ‘spiritual figures’ made their way into the town.

Notably, the week-long Pran Pratistha ceremony is underway in Ayodhya’s Ram Temple and scores of rituals are being performed by seers & saints.

Who are reel-life Ram, Sita & Laxman?

For the uninitiated, the Ramayan TV serial by renowned filmmaker Ramanand Sagar attained cult status while the characters of Lord Ram, Laxman and Mata Sita portrayed by Arun Govil, Sunil Lahri and Dipika Chikilia Topiwala etched themselves in people’s memory forever.

The popularity of Ramayan TV serial is evident from the fact that Arun Govil & Dipika continue to be recognized as ‘Lord Ram’ & ‘Mata Sita’, by people even today.

Dipika eager to welcome Lord Ram

Dipika Chikilia has also shared a video of their arrival in the holy town for the historic Pran Pratistha, a ceremony that will see the installation of Ram Lalla in the sanctum sanctorum of grand temple.

Sharing a Insta post, she said that all three of them have landed in Ayodhya and are eagerly & joyously waiting for the moment, when Lord Ram gets seated in the temple.

“It’s time to welcome Shree Ram,” she wrote.
