A total of 20 cabinet ministers and 8 ministers of state took oath on Thursday. However, those from Jyotiraditya Scindia camp got lion’s share of seats in Shivraj Chouhan cabinet as 12 of his loyalists took oath as ministers while many senior BJP leaders were snubbed. This takes the total strength of Shivraj cabinet to 33 as 5 cabinet ministers were sworn in earlier.

While speaking to reporters after the cabinet expansion, Scindia tore into Congress seniors including Kamal Nath and Digvijaya Singh for ‘looting the state’ in last 15 months. He also asserted that he didn’t need any certification from them.

Scindia’s filmy style rejoinder garnered much attention because MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan has also spoken the same line in the past.
