New Delhi: Strong earthquake shook the Delhi-NCR region on Tuesday afternoon. The quake hit the national capital & adjoining areas at 2.53 PM today afternoon. The tremors were felt for relatively long duration, with some reports claiming that it lasted for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
The magnitude of Earthquake was 6.4 on Ritcher scale and its epicentre was in Nepal.
Several adjoining regions including Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh & Uttarakhand also reported strong tremors.

As the tremors hit the national capital, people came out of their homes for safety. Several people caught up in the office work during the earthquake also said that the building shook due to relatively longer spell of tremors.

Delhi Police took to X and said: “Hey Delhi people! We hope you all are safe. Please come out of your buildings to a safe spot, but do not panic. DO NOT USE ELEVATORS! For any emergency help, dial 112.”

The strong earthquake brings focus back on the devastating 2015 earthquake that hit the Himalayan nation and led to death of hundreds of people.
