Trial run of Patna-Ranchi Vande Bharat Express begins: Check stations, routes, fares & timing

The train route also boasts of at least 4 tunnels built at about 27-km stretch of the journey, between Sidhwar and Sanki. The longest tunnel is of 1.7 km long length while 3 others are of 600 metres each.

New Delhi: Amid the slew of Vande Bharat Express trains rolling out across the country, Bihar is gearing up for its first state-of-the art train.

The trial run for Patna-Ranchi Vande Bharat Express train began on Monday morning. The train left the Patna junction at 6:55 am and was scheduled to reach Jharkhand’s capital Ranchi by 1 PM.

In its return journey, the train will leave Ranchi station by 2.20 PM and will reach Patna by 8.25 PM.

Train halts at these places

Dishing out more details about Vande Bharat’s stoppages & halts between these two populous cities, Virendra Kumar, the Chief Public Relation Officer (CPRO) of East Central Railway said, “the train will depart from Patna Junction at 06:55 am and reach Gaya at 08:20 am and will reach Ranchi at 1 pm.”

The train is likely to have 6 stations namely Jehanabad, Gaya, Barkakana, Koderma, Hazaribagh Town and Mesra. It will pass through various tunnels & bridges during its journey and will take halts at at Gaya and Barkakana stations.

The train route also boasts of at least 4 tunnels built at about 27-km stretch of the journey, between Sidhwar and Sanki. The longest tunnel is of 1.7 km long length while 3 others are of 600 metres each.

Overnight journey reduced to 6 hours

The train will significantly reduce the travel time between two capitals besides enhancing the comfort of commutation.

The train will run for 6 days in a week, covering a distance of 410 kms in 6 hours. Currently, the existing trains between two cities take about an overnight journey to travel.

The train will depart from Patna Junction at 06:55 am, reach Gaya at 08:20 am and will reach Ranchi at 1 pm while in its return journey, it will leave Ranchi at 2:20 pm, reach Gaya at 7 pm and will arrive at Patna junction by 8:25 PM.

The train will have multiple trial runs before getting operational. No deadlines has come yet on launching the Vande Bharat Express.
