Uddhav’s key aide Sanjay Raut summoned by ED in money laundering case

The ED case against Raut pertains to Patra Chawl land scam. In April this year, the ED officials had also attached the property of Raut.

New Delhi: While the Mahavikas Aghadi Alliance (MVA) faces an uncertain future over rebellion by Shiv Sena MLAs, Sanjay Raut, the most outspoken face of government, has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Mumbai tomorrow. The ED sleuths will question him in a case pertaining to his alleged involvement in a money laundering case.

The ED case against Raut pertains to Patra Chawl land scam. In April this year, the ED officials had also attached the property of Raut. The Shiv Sena troubleshooter faced the ED heat after officials started investigation into Rs 1,040 crore floor space index fraud at Patra Chawal in Goregaon region of Mumbai.

Sanjay Raut, Sena spokesperson and the key aide of Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray, has been ‘threatening’ the rebel Sena MLAs to either return to Mumbai else serious repercussions may follow.

Following the ED summons, Sanjay Raut took to Twitter and called it an attempt to silence him.

‘Conspiracy against me’, Raut tweeted.

Sanjay Raut is also facing the wrath from several quarters for his offensive & obnoxious comment on rebel MLAs camping in Guwahati hotel.

He reportedly said that 40 bodies will come from Assam and will be sent directly to the morgue for postmortem, in a reference to the rebel MLAs.

When confronted later, he said that he was speaking about the “dead conscience” of the legislators and that they are “living corpses” now.
