New Delhi: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijaybhai Rupani paid homage to former Chief Minister of the state and a senior BJP leader late Keshubhai Patel.
Former Gujarat Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel, who played key role in building BJP in Gujarat died of cardiac arrest on Thursday morning. He was 92.
Expressing grief over the demise of Keshubhai Patel, CM Vijaybhai Rupani said that Keshubhai Patel was hailed as a dedicated leader in Gujarat from Jan Sangh to BJP and made important contributions in the political arena.
The BJP veteran was Gujarat’s chief minister in 1995 when the party came to power for the first time and again during 1998-2001. Prime Minister Narendra Modi succeeded him as Gujarat chief minister in October 2001.

Appreciating Keshubhai Patel’s contribution in state’s development, CM said that he dedicated his entire life to the nation. Not only that, but as a farmer’s son, he has given unparalleled popularity to the BJP through many public service works including farmer’s interest.
